In consideration of being permitted to participate in the DENTON’S DAY OF THE DEAD FESTIVAL TWILIGHT LANTERN & COSTUME PARADE, participants, or the legal guardian of minor participants, agree to the following terms:

1. Assumption of Risk
I understand that participating in a parade, especially in the evening, involves certain inherent risks, including but not limited to:

Injuries from walking, tripping, or falling on uneven surfaces.

Potential collisions with other participants or vehicles.

Risks associated with adverse weather conditions or low-light environments.

Hazards from parade floats, animals, or other attractions.

I understand, recognize, and voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation in this event, whether known or unknown, and I take full responsibility for any personal injury, property damage, or other losses I may incur.

2. Release and Waiver
I hereby release, discharge, and hold harmless Denton’s Day of the Dead Festival, its directors, officers, employees, volunteers, sponsors, and agents (collectively, the "Released Parties") from any and all liability, claims, demands, or causes of action, whether in law or equity, arising from or related to my participation in the Parade.

I agree not to file any lawsuit or bring any legal claim against the Released Parties for any injuries, damages, or losses sustained as a result of my participation in the Parade.

3. Indemnification
I agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Released Parties from any and all claims, demands, or liabilities (including legal fees) arising out of my negligence, misconduct, or violation of the terms of this waiver during my participation in the Parade.

4. Medical Treatment
I hereby consent to receive any necessary medical treatment in the event of an injury, accident, or illness during the Parade. I understand and agree that I am responsible for any costs associated with medical care or transportation resulting from my participation in this event.

5. Photo and Video Release
I understand that photos and videos may be taken during the Parade, and I grant permission to the event organizers to use my likeness in promotional materials, social media, and any other form of publicity without compensation.

6. Compliance with Rules
I agree to comply with all event rules, safety instructions, and guidelines provided by the event organizers. Failure to do so may result in my removal from the Parade.

7. Minor Participants
If the participant is a minor, the undersigned parent or legal guardian acknowledges that they have read and understood this waiver and agrees to all terms on behalf of the minor.
