Dress to Impress!
What’s a fall festival without a costume contest? We hold this event on our main festival stage each year to celebrate the vibrant spirit of our community.
Registration opens October 1, and early registration is encouraged to secure one of the limited spots available in each category.
The first 20 people to register can get a festival shirt for only $10 more, only one per registration.

About the Costume Contest
Contestants enter into one of four categories:
- Day of the Dead-Themed Costume Category (13 +)
- General Category (13 +)
- Child (12 younger)
- Group/Family
This year we will need audience participation in judging our beautifully dressed contestants. This will be done by texting a number on your phone so please don’t forget to bring it with you to participate!
Winners in each category will receive a trophy, a spot as one of the Honorary Parade Leaders in the Twilight Lantern and Costume Parade, and their name and photograph on our social media.
Register Your Costume
Participation in our event is open to everyone in our community, but you must register to play! Registration opens October 1 and continues until just before the event on October 24.
Registration is $10 for each of the following categories
- Day of the Dead-Themed Costume Category (13 +)
- General Category (13 +)
- Group/Family
The kids’ costume contest is free to enter, but you must still register.
The first-place winner in each category receives a trophy, a spot as one of the Honorary Chairs of the Twilight Lantern and Costume Parade, and their name and photo will be featured on our social media.
Every participant earns a slot in Denton’s Day of the Dead Twilight Lantern and Costume Parade!
Kids also get a bag of goodies for their participation.
